01 / FLAGSHIPGENSLIT®

Genslit® · flagship

Precision built into every incision.

Eyegen's premium ophthalmic micro-surgical knife pairs a sterile, single-use blade with a reusable PC handle system. It is engineered for precision, control and consistency in corneal and limbal incisions; use and reprocessing must follow the product IFU.

  • Flat-strip medical-grade SS 420 blade
  • Double cutting edges on the bevel-up side
  • Ultrasonic-welded blade-to-handle attachment
  • Colour-coded PC handle for identification
02 / SAFETY KERATOMEGENSLIT® SKNIFE®

Genslit® family · depth-limiting profile

Controlled entry, by design.

Genslit® SKnife® pairs the precision blade and PC handle system with a safety-stopper profile designed for controlled corneal entry during phacoemulsification and ICL procedures.

  • Depth-limiting entry profile
  • Designed to reduce sudden over-penetration
  • Supports protection of Descemet's membrane and endothelium
  • Designed to help minimise unintended anterior capsule injury
03 / VALUE RANGEGENBLADE™

Single-use handle · volume programs

Precision engineering for high-volume needs.

Built on the Genslit® blade engineering platform, Genblade™ pairs the precision blade with a single-use PP handle and U.S. surface technology for high-volume programs and price-conscious buyers.

  • Single-use PP handle, supplied ready to use
  • Flat-strip blade with double cutting edge
  • Designed for high-throughput programs and institutional orders

Why Genslit®

Blade, finish and handle. Engineered as one.

Genslit's performance comes from three areas working together: the blade itself, the finish applied to it and the handle system that holds it.

01 / THE BLADE

Flat-strip construction

Medical-grade SS 420 with uniform thickness across the cutting zone supports repeatable bevel geometry and avoids the thickness variation often associated with manually forged blades.

  • 150 micron and 220 micron thickness options
  • Accurate, repeatable bevel geometry
  • Precision-controlled grinding and edge forming
02 / EDGE FORMATION

Controlled edge, repeatable cut

Advanced manufacturing equipment forms consistent edge geometry, bevel angles and incision dimensions from blade to blade.

  • Uniform incision depth and length
  • Precisely controlled bevel angles
  • High repeatability
“True sharpness is not aggressive entry, but controlled cutting throughout the incision.”
03 / DOUBLE EDGE

Two cutting edges on the bevel-up side

The Genslit® double cutting-edge design is intended to support controlled advancement from entry to exit.

  • Smoother, controlled tissue entry
  • Reduced penetration force
  • Improved incision stability and control

Precision that reduces penetration force

Consistent bevel. Less resistance on entry.

Independent thickness measurement shows Genslit's bevel holding a consistent sub-150 micron profile, while manually ground blades typically show greater variation along the same edge. A thinner, more consistent bevel meets less resistance and may help minimise crush and trauma at the wound edges, supporting a clean, watertight, self-sealing incision.

Comparative performance statements should be supported by current, approved test data.

Lower forceA thinner, consistent bevel meets less resistance on entry

04 / The finish

Surface treatment

Specialised surface treatment is designed to minimise tissue drag. An anti-glare surface reduces reflections under the operating microscope to support visual clarity at the incision site.

  • Smooth lamellar separation
  • Reduced stromal drag
  • Clearer view of blade tip and tissue planes
  • Improved visualisation may reduce visual fatigue
  • Supports stable wound architecture

05 / The handle system

Secure attachment. Clear identification.

Ultrasonic welding mechanically bonds the blade to the handle rather than relying on a glue-based attachment, helping maintain alignment under surgical force. Colour-coded handles distinguish Keratome, Crescent, Side-port and MVR variants.

  • Designed to prevent blade wobble or movement
  • Colour coding supports quick identification and workflow efficiency in the OT
  • Medical-grade PC handle and cradle
  • Reusable only in accordance with the product IFU and validated reprocessing instructions
PC handleMedical-grade polycarbonate handle and cradle designed to withstand repeated autoclave cycles, subject to the product IFU.

Genslit® configurations

One blade platform. Four incision types.

The same Genslit® blade is offered in four configurations, each suited to a different step of the procedure.

Keratome

Primary corneal or limbal incision for phacoemulsification and cataract surgery.

Crescent

Scleral tunnel or flap construction, supporting a stable, self-sealing wound.

Side-port

Secondary paracentesis entry for instrument access and anterior chamber stability.

MVR

Vitrectomy access - a fluid-tight stab incision for posterior segment instruments.
